1. Andharban Trek
Located in the Pimpri area of Maharashtra, Andharban is a thick forest that translates to “Dark Forest.” About an hour and a half from Lonavala, it is a famous hiking destination in southern India. In the monsoon, the Andharban forest walk is perfect since the bulk of the trail is sheltered by the forest canopy. Unlike most paths, this one descends all the way, so you’ll be heading down rather than hiking up. Tamhini Ghat is surrounded by the lush Sahyadri forest, and you’ll see foggy and beautiful woodland views.

5. Manikgad Trek
Located on a hill in the Manikgad valley in Maharashtra, Manikgad today is a ruinous fortress. The fort is about 1,878 meters high and cannot be measured from three sides. The upper part can only be reached from the south. It was not a castle in its true sense, but more than a place of exploration. However, even in the face of declining defenses, one can still imagine its beauty during its days. A loose gate with a Ganesh inscription on top of it greets the man as he enters the castle. The castle offers a magnificent view of the surrounding valley, the Karnala pinnacle and the Prabalgad fort are very visible.
